Food with a View

Chances are, if the weather is gorgeous (as it often is in this town, so let me clarify: by gorgeous I mean 70 degrees and sunny with a cool breeze), I get an itch to head to the C Level Lounge. Located at 880 Harbor Island Drive, the lounge (attached to sister restaurant, the pricier and only-open-for-dinner Island Prime) sits on the edge of the bay, with a clear view of the Coronado bridge, downtown, and plenty of rippling water.

When I happened by yesterday, Chef Deborah Scott was working the pass, and her two food trucks -- Chop Soo-ey and Ms. Patty Melt with Wilbur the Weiner Dog -- were parked in the lot.

I've seen the first one around town, at events and such, but this was my first glimpse of Ms. Patty Melt. As usual, I had a glass (or three, I can't remember) of Evolution, which is a blend of nine white varietals, lightly crisp with a sweet honey finish. As you'll see in the video below, we tried some new things this time. Usually I get the Thai Steak Salad, but this time I tried the teriyaki chicken lettuce wraps ($14). David got the little neck clams & fox river mussels ($14). He loved the sauce, it was a more savory version of the lobster bisque (which came with his lobster BLT, $18).

Check out the food, the view, and the people in this little video I made because I'm awesome like that:
