It used to be nearly every week I had a new brewery to write about. Nowadays, it’s like I have a new brewery tasting room to talk about. This week is no different. Joining the long list of satellite sampling facilities to enter the construction phase is one from Twisted Manzanita Ales. Located at 4652 Mission Boulevard between popular eateries The Duck Dive and Dirty Bird’s, it will allow the Santee business to expose coastal locals and tourists to get a taste of their ales.
The company has been searching for a location to house its tasting room for some time, and felt it was important to select a site that allowed them to interface with visitors from outside San Diego. The company is expanding distribution into a number of states and hopes to turn residents of those new territories on while they’re in America’s Finest City. Cans, bottles, growlers, and kegs of Twisted Manzanita beers going beyond its six core beers will be available for sampling and purchase. This will include specialty beers brewed specifically for the satellite venue.
While the company also operates a distillery under the name Twisted Manzanita Spirits, the tasting room will only serve beer. However, tours may be set up in the future where patrons are transported from the Pacific Beach venue to Twisted Manzanita’s Santee brewery and distillery. For now, it’s all about the 1,400 square foot spot, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
