Kindergarten black comedy set in high school. It presumes to have something to say, not necessarily something new, about cliquism and conformism and other such crappism among American teens. It is likelier, however, to provoke thoughts about how little talent you can get by with in Hollywood as long as you are serving youth. Rose McGowan, asked to live up to the epithet of "Satan in Heels," has been better served. (Writer-director Darren Stein is new at this.) The veteran Pam Grier, as a homicide cop on the case of the birthday girl who choked to death on a racquetball-sized jawbreaker, comes closest to raising a smile. When she first introduces herself.
