There’s something unkosher about Seann William Scott playing a character named “Doug Glatt.” He makes the best of the gladsome dolt who is recruited by a semi-pro hockey team after being spotted brawling in the stands. Slo-mo bloodletting backed by classical music frequently pulls this in the direction of “Jake LaMotta on Ice.” The script by Evan Goldberg and costar Jay Baruchel packs more squalid pathos and swagger than bite, so don’t expect anything resembling Slapshot. Michael Dowse directed. (2012) — Scott Marks
