Makes the case that the medium isn't just the message, it's the magic. Specifically, there's a reason why a painting on a movie poster can do a better job of capturing the spell-casting power of cinema than a photograph can. At least when the painter is humble workaday genius Drew Struzan, the artist behind the posters for Indiana Jones, Back the Future, The Thing, The Muppets, and a bunch of Star Wars. It's a bit draggy and a bit gushy, and the word "iconic" gets repeated to the point of embarrassment, but it's also full of thoughtful commentary from the likes of Michael J. Fox, Guillermo del Toro, Steven Spielberg and Leonard Maltin. (Fox opens his comments by comparing a movie poster to the opening notes of a musical composition, and Maltin admits that when he thinks of Harrison Ford, he thinks of Cruzan's image of him.)
