Voices: We Still Ain't Got A Band
Voices: We Still Ain’t Got A Band is the second-part of Manson’s musical trilogy on acapella singing. This edition takes you on a musical journey starting when teenagers stood around on street corners and use their voices to put harmonies together singing songs from artists such as the Platters, the Moonglows, the Coasters, and the Drifters. Fast-forward to today acapella groups is using their voices to imitate a virtual orchestra of sounds, including jazz trumpet, classical, and a full drum.
The event features the songs of Michael Jackson, John Legend, Paul Simon, Beatles, Aretha Franklin, and more, under the direction of IARP’s Artistic Director Calvin Manson and musical directors Roosevelt Carter and Eric Overstreet, with choreography by Leila Aguirre.
