The event features original jazz percussion at SDSU with David Whitman and special guest Andrew Neesley (trumpet), along with Jodie Hill (bass), Hans Chamberlain (piano), Scott Kyle (trombone), Tim Nunnink (saxophone), Chris Montgomery (guitar), and the SDSU Percussion Ensemble.
SDSU percussion faculty member David Whitman and special guest, Grammy Award nominee Andrew Neesley, collaborate on a concert featuring Neeley’s original music for jazz septet. Admission is free and open to the public. Pieces performed will be all new, original compositions by Neesley, commissioned by Whitman and written for this concert and an album to be recorded in 2015. In addition, the SDSU South Coast Percussion Ensemble will perform Palta by Bob Becker.
