Lowcloudcover released its debut EP One Little Shot In the Eye in April 2003, quickly earning buzz status after one of the songs was heard frequently on the MTV series Real World San Diego.
After releasing I Took a Second Too Long in November 2004, the band embarked on a world tour that kept them on the road for the better part of two years. They returned to the studio in 2007, releasing Separation Anxiety and settling into various residencies around town, as well as touring the western U.S.
Singer-guitarist Greg Russell formed This Is Not My Life in early 2009, with guitarist Matt Mournian (Calico Horse, Goodbye Blue Monday), though he still plays in Lowcloudcover. Bassist Dario Izarraras left the band in 2008 to join Goodbye Blue Monday; he was replaced by Kyle Conwell, who also sings and plays percussion.
