Lesands is an eighties-style hard rock band. For live performances, the members usually play over synth lines and drum loops. Their 5-track record Sweet Skin was released in January 2011, followed by a performance at that year’s SXSW Fest in Austin, Texas.
The band subsequently shrunk for awhile to just one permanent member, Austin Taylor Tirado. Guitarist Andy Briehan and drummer John Fredericks moved to NYC and, in 2013, founded the band Sacco (named after a famous French anarchist). Bassist-singer Nik Ewing played with Longstay, Cardboard Truckers, Three Chamber Heart, and Tape Deck Mountain before launching a solo album in 2019.
As of 2019, Lesands had reconstituted as a duo featuring Austin Taylor Tirado and Nik Ewing.
