Singer-guitarist Heather Nation was already writing songs for bands while still a teenager, with her first recording studio session taking place while still in high school. She’s a founding member of synth-pop band Belladon, who were nominated Best New Artist at the San Diego Music Awards. She’s also played with prog-groove rockers Meadow, formed in 2017 with Erdis Maxhelaku (from Gayle Skidmore’s group) and Patrick DeWit (AJ Froman). Her solo single “Selene” dropped in December 2020.
A live performance video for “Selene” was produced by Solana Beach music media group Halfway Home Sessions, which debuted on their website. The single was recorded and co-produced by Trevor LeVieux, and mixed and mastered by Mike Butler, whose credits include Ray LaMontagne, the Shins, the Pretenders, and Norah Jones.
Nation has also taught classes in guitar, vocals, and songwriting, and is a NAMM Artist, having performed at the Anaheim convention. She has opened for internationally known artists such as The Blues Travelers, Lily Meola, He is We, and more.
Around 2020 and into 2021, Nation was performing as a solo artist and with her trio, including a Thursday evening residency at Nick and G’s in Rancho Santa Fe. A new solo single called "Flower" debuted in November 2021.
A new single dropped in November 2023 for "Pool of Mystery," with a video also produced for the track. "This will be my first ever full length music video, very excited for this milestone," said Nation.
