Dallas McLaughlin was known as Dr. Cliff Mixtable when he was in the early 2000s rap spoof Bad Credit. Their local success led to them playing on tours with the Aquabats, the ska band that dressed like superheroes for The Aquabats! Super Show! on the Hub network. McLaughlin ended up writing animated segments for the show, as well as contributing music to Nickelodeon’s Yo Gabba Gabba, which was co-created by the Aquabats’ Christian Jacobs.
McLaughlin’s Bad Credit bombast also led to him creating a stand-up act that led him to performing regularly in San Diego, L.A., and Vegas. His first standup LP An Evening of This! debuted on the Apple Music Comedy charts at number nine. He followed up in April 2023 with I Didn’t Start the Fire (And Other Lies).
Among the stage productions created by McLaughlin are Death: Live in Concert, The Velocity of Celebration, and a comedy sketch show called The Geese.
