The Blue Moonies were formed (unknowingly) on a Blue Moon in 2010. Drawn together by their jobs as music teachers, members began rehearsing three times a week, quickly accumulating enough original material to start playing shows.
The band has played the Belly Up, Soda Bar, Donovans in the Gaslamp, Club M at the Grand Del Mar, the Queen Mary, the Ocean House, Cardiff Beach Bar, the Flying Elephant, Ignite, Aztec Brewery, Laguna Cliffs Resort in Dana Point, Across the Street, the Azure Seas Harbor Cruises, Bar Leucadian, Penny Lane, Tiki House, Calypso Cafe, Davina's Cabo Grill, Mother Earth Brewery, Las Olas, and
numerous 102.1 KPRI events, as well as private events and weddings.
Their debut self-titled full-length was released in 2011.
