Blair Gun was founded by Joedin Morelock (vocals, guitar) and Zach Cavor (guitar), who met on the site BandMix. Cavor brought in Alland Mendivil (bass) – the two played baseball together as kids - and Joedin brought in his pal Jake Richter (drums), who he met in a recording arts class. The band released their debut album Blaspheme Queen in 2023, preceded by a single and video for the track “Bennet.”
According to the band, "Bennet is about a man that I met online. After years of making music and seeing no progress, no fans, no attention, he was making all these posts about giving up on his dreams and his feelings of defeat. It really touched me on a profound level because he reflected a lot of my own personal fears at the time and the fears of a lot of people that are pursuing a career in the arts."
Their sophomore album, There Are No Rival Clones Here, dropped June 7, 2024 via Enabler No. 6 Records and sonaBLAST, preceded by a single for "The Thief."
